This week on Limited Resources Marshall and Luis go over what makes a great Cube deck in the current era of Cube. What are the key ingredients you need to make a Cube deck come together consistently?…
If you are a Patreon supporter of ours, you do get access to our Patreon question of the week, and this one comes from Oh, man, how is that, Luis? Chromicomicus? Yes, there we go.
And Chromicomicus says, with every set, Wizards seems to print cards for almost every play format, constructed, commander, draft, et cetera.
Sometimes these are total blanks for us because they do nothing for draft.
LSV is left looking for cards that will fit in the cube rather than the other way around.
Putting your design hat on, if you could create cards that accentuate an archetype or a play pattern or perhaps breathes new life into older archetypes that have gone by the wayside, what would they be? Is there anything LSV could create that would help him stop hating green? Wow.
I think that some of the things that I would be interested in, the advantage of creating a direct-to-cube sort of product would be that you don't have to worry about what it does to other constructed formats, which can be valuable.
Because that's part of the reason that the Modern Horizon sets are cool, because they can print cards that are way too powerful for standard that go directly into Modern.
When it comes to Cube, I wouldn't mind the reanimator archetype getting a little bit of a boost.
I feel like that one has kind of been on a consistent or slow but consistent kind of journey downwards in terms of how good I think it is.
And I wouldn't mind a cool animate, maybe, or a cool creature to animate that they wouldn't want to print in other formats.
They have to keep in mind all these old formats when they make some of these creatures.
But, you know, when you look at modern where like Gorio's Vengeance of Troxa and Gristlebrand is a really strong deck.
