Limited Resources 866 – The Hobbit Set Review: Rare and Mythic Rare

Um, Luis, we went over the mechanics and archetypes in the last episode.

Um, but grading scale, we're still gonna be giving these cards grades, and it's gonna be a little different, uh, you know, than the commons and uncommons typically.

Yeah, so we use a f- uh, g- letter grade grading scale with two additional sub-grades.

So starting with As, these are the bombs, the game winners, the cards that are good in many situations, especially when behind.

Best cards in the set.

We're gonna see a lot of As in the rare and mythic review.

Cards like the Superhero Civil War or Captain Marvel.

Bs are cards that actively pull you towards their colors or, in this case, color pair, often headliners for the set, go-to cards, and reasons to be in that color pair.

So we're talking the kind of, like, good to great commons and good uncommons.

Some of the best uncommons creep up into the A territory, but for this review, we're gonna see a decent amount of these, where cards, cards like Hero in Training or Trickster Strategem, kind of the, the, the top end of the, of the not bomb playables.

Cs, well, these are the playables.

These are the pawns of limited.

You're not gonna find a ton of Cs in the rare and mythic review.

We'll find some, of course, but rares tend to cluster on either end.

We're talking cards like Brave Brawler or Hour of Defeat.

Ds are the cards you're pretty unhappy if you have to run.

Um, they're playable.

Every c- almost every card is, uh, just about, in these sets these days.

But these are cards where you look at them, and you're a little unhappy.

Mediocre, junky, maybe a little situational or a high setup cost.

Cards like Atlantean Cavalry or Repulsor Blast.

And then Fs, we'll see plenty of Fs here.

Uh, these are cards that-

... are just straight-up unplayable in limited.
