Last week, we looked at Moses' parents and the way that their faith, uh, saved his life, preserved his life.
They had the faith to protect him, the faith to make a basket and put him in the river, the faith to allow him to go be raised in Pharaoh's home.
And, uh, this week, uh, we wanna move from talking about the faith of his parents to his faith, the way that Moses walked in faith.
That's the series title because it's the reoccurring phrase all throughout this chapter.
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasure of sin.
For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward.
By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king's anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.
By faith he instituted the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch the Israelites.
God, I pray that the same spirit that inspired the writer of Hebrews to focus in in these verses on Moses would now fill me to teach us from your Word.
I ask you, by your Holy Spirit, to speak prophetically to your people through your Word.
I pray that not one word would be said this hour out of step with your Spirit.
