Get ready for your weekly dose of sibling banter on the *Let Me Ask My Sister* podcast with your hosts, Aoife and Sorcha! This week, we get an update on our favourite fox cubs before doing a dramatic…
Who doesn't love a little Fox update, even if it's not a real update? They are coming closer and closer to the house.
They are up on the deck like almost every evening and every morning playing right outside.
Yeah, it's so cute.
However, so because yesterday we were in the garden all day long, We had the paddling pool out and the hose and everything.
Well, we were like, yeah, so we were in and out of the garden for like the whole day.
I feel like we might have scared them a bit.
They're probably like, oh shit, there's people here.
Well, they can't have two houses.
They can't.
They can only have one.
Well, so Owen was like, um...
Or maybe we should just evict them.
Because I was saying, look, you're going to have to mark your territory when the foxes leave.
We were having that whole chat.
Because I was telling the girls about the foxes.
Because I hadn't actually, I hadn't told them about the cubs.
I just sent loads of videos.
They were
like,
what is this about? But one of the girls was saying that her parents had a fox issue.
And yeah, long story short, they just got her dad's pee and put it around the garden.
Yeah.
Yeah, if you haven't listened to our like last week's or the week before his podcast, Eva has Fox in her garden.
And the best way to get them to move on is for an adult male to piss all over the gaff.
Yes, essentially foxes will read that epistle over the gap.
Just the boundaries of the garden.
Thank you very much.
Does
it have to be a circle? Like, do you have to go around? Do you have to walk? Because I was saying it to Tim and he was like, do you have to spray? He was like, that's more challenging than you think.
It's only what I imagine.
I'm like, you need to get all the perimeter.
But I imagine it's a bit more like a dog.
Four quarters.
Yeah.
Pee on a tree.
Just pee on a tree.
Pee on a tree.
But yeah, effectively, they see it as a bear, a bigger predator marking their territory.
But yeah, so when the girls are saying that they, her parents effectively got rid of their foxes that way.
And so, and I were chatting about it.
And then, so, you know, he was like, well, I just do it now.
And I was like, no, we can't do it till the mom and the babies, the babies are grown.
Yeah.
He's like, come on, they've got next door.
They do.
I was like, I'm not evicting a mom and her babies.
I don't know what the situation is with her baby daddy over there.
I don't know what kind of fox he is.
Maybe he's abusive.
Maybe she needs a home and she can stay in mine.
Okay, that's very nice of you.
So after they're grown up foxes, then you'll evict this poor mother.
Now that the kids have flown the nest, you'll say, out you go, mama fox.
Essentially, yes.
You'll find a new home.
Yeah, I don't know if he's a bad dad or whatever.
That's fair.
Okay.
