The 2000 Disney movie came out right before I started playing tackle football competitively, and it became an annual August rewatch to get my mindset and my motivation aligned with the dramatic journey of the high schoolers in the film.
And while I've gotten older, I've identified more with the Denzel Washington and Will Patton coaching roles.
Rewatching this still brings me back to the moments of my high school football "career," especially preseason, specifically the dreaded two-a-day practices, and in Remember the Titans case, uh, sometimes three-a-day practices.
