But have you got any reflections where you can share any insights with the benefit

I think I learned very early on in the piece as a maintenance fitter that if I wanted to know how something really worked, sometimes it wasn't in a book.

It was actually going to the people that operate the equipment that day in, day out knew what they were doing.

And I learned very quickly that if I wanted to fix a machine quickly, go to them.

And – What I learned was by building relationships with the right people and getting to know them, those that I had good relationships with, they would go, oh, Jamie, do this, do that, and they would help me out and guide me.

Whereas those that maybe I was a little standoffish with, I didn't get very far.

And I think I learned this really early principle about leadership and relationships at that point as a young man.

I was really fortunate when I moved out of that trade role and into training and then into a HR role.

And we would walk the manufacturing floor and he would give me this people lens that I never learned from a textbook.

He would talk about understanding how people think and don't just assume that they make a decision based on this.

There might be something going on at home or there might be they're being bullied or he got me this lens that opened up.

I use some of those skills every day now when I'm talking with CEOs and with leaders.
