We're a couple of weeks away from Equip, and this is always a super, super hard time of year.
This is, um, if anybody's like me, this is the part of the year where every piece of equipment you have [laughs] starts to break.
I had, um, had a hydraulic leak yesterday on my ZK, so I only got about a half a day worth of work done, and then, uh, zipped that thing home.
And it took me several hours, but I got it fixed thankfully, 'cause this is the time of year where I don't have time to take this, this stuff to a shop and it sit there for a week or two, and then them think about it, and then they have to wait for an approval.
It's gotta be fixed, and it's when, you know, it ...
You hear people talk about whether they're mechanical or not, and I'm lucky because I've, I've learned a lot of stuff growing up.
My dad taught me a bunch of stuff.
But all the small engine stuff, I've had to teach myself just because I don't have the time or money to sit there and, and wait for this stuff to get fixed, so I've got to figure it out.
So it took me, I don't know, probably three hours to get that, that hydraulic l- uh, leak, uh, nailed down as to where it was and then get it fixed.
But three hours seems like a lot of time, but in the grand scheme of things, that, that repair probably would've taken a, a week at, if I were to take it to a dealer.
So I'm, I'm thankful that I have the, the ability to, to get out there and, and try it at least, and try and get the stuff fixed.
I've done several ...
What do they call them? Bush hacks or bush, bush fix.
I had a, um, my blower last week ...
Hang on a second.
I gotta get out in front of these people.
Um, my blower last week, the, uh, The recoil rope where you pull to start snapped right in the middle of my day [laughs] when I was just far enough away from home where I was like, "I do not wanna stop, turn around, go home, put a new rope in," yada, yada, yada.
So luckily, I had my, um ...
I always keep my scrunch with me, so I got the, the front of it off and was able to, uh, keep, cut the, cut the line where it was broken.
I always keep a lighter in my, in my kit as well just in case of something like that, so I was able to burn the, burn the tattered end and get it back.
Now, it took, it ...
I had about maybe a foot worth of rope on there to get the thing started, but it worked.
And that's the kinda stuff you just gotta ...
You gotta start figuring those things out to, to get you fixed and at least get you limping through the day.
I have a ...
