The Kitty Cosmodrome Astronaut Training Camp 🪐 🚀 Silly Stories For Kids

[upbeat music] Usually, the middle of nowhere was very quiet, a place of warm sunshine, whispering winds, and endless red sand.

Tumbleweed drifted lazily across the desert.

Rockets occasionally rumbled into the sky from the Catronaut Cosmodrome, and the smell of pancakes from Potato and Beans Diner floated on the warm breeze.

But today was a little different.

Today, there was the smell of something else in the air, excitement.

Rocket, the fearless tabby kitten, stood at the dusty desert station with his overstuffed backpack and sniffed.

[sniffs] "Ooh, excitement," he declared, with a hint of ambition [sniffs] ooh, and the unmistakable scent of winning.

"Hmm, I can think of other smells around you." Rocket spun around.

It was Nova, a sleek black kitten, and she was carrying a stack of books beneath one arm and wheeling a gleaming black suitcase.

She sniffed delicately.

[sniffs] "Hmm, overconfidence," she said, with strong notes of arrogance.

Before Rocket could reply, Nova swept away towards the Cosmodrome, her tail held high.

Rocket frowned.

[sighs] She was going to be hard work.

Like most kittens that summer, Rocket had come to spend three days at the Catronaut headquarters at the Kitty Cosmodrome Space Training Academy.

There would be astronaut talks, exciting challenges, competitions for Catster star badges, and best of all, a chance to be chosen as the Catronauts' newest recruit.

Only one kitten would be selected, and Rocket already knew who that would be.

He caught sight of his reflection in the Cosmodrome's gleaming glass window and gave himself a jaunty wink.

[beep] A long queue of excited kittens snaked towards the front desk to sign in to the space camp.

Rocket sighed.

Oh, how he hated waiting.

He bounced up and down on the spot impatiently.

[boing] A few places ahead, the black kitten from the station tried to ignore him, focusing hard on her book.

"In space, thinking first can save your whiskers," she read.

Nova smiled.
