Glensound Celebrates 60 Years with English Sparkling Wine at IBC2026

So here we are on Glen Town's booth on their 60th anniversary and Mark, you've got something special there.

Yes, we're very proud of this.

It's our 60th anniversary for a family company based in the UK.

All designed and built from Maidstone near London in the UK.

And as part of our 60th anniversary, Gavin, our chairman and owner of the company, owns a vineyard.

And we make, or Gavin makes, some rather splendid, are we supposed to say English sparkling wine? English sparkling wine it certainly is.

Yes, which at 5 o'clock every day we've been sharing with our customers and we even had one of our French customers being rather surprised yesterday, didn't we?

A lot of French customers are surprised at how great English sparkling wine is.

Yeah, let's tell us a bit about our wine that we're giving away today.

So this particular wine, this is from the 2024 harvest, harvested in October 24.

It's roughly 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.

It's very citrus flavour for a sparkling wine.

It's made in the traditional method, so i.e. the same as Champagne, which we're not allowed to call it Champagne, of course.

It had eight months on lees, so that's the amount of time that the yeast and sugar have evolved to give it its bubbles.
