[on-hold music][singing] Spell Songs finishing off that half-hour set from their album In Thin Air, the track "Ann Coleman" with Dove.
Spell Songs, a seven-piece folk world band out of Sheffield in the UK This album, I think, inspired or commissioned by or invited by authors Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris to come in their Book of Birds, a nature book, a love letter to the splendors and mysteries of bird life.
Beautiful song, beautiful record.
Prior to Spell Songs, we had Colin Stetson and Brigid Chambule, Brigid probably, from Scotland in the UK.
Grew up on the Isle of Skye and has an innovative way of playing the Scottish small pipes.
This album, All the Light in the World, a collaboration with Canadian saxophonist Colin Stetson.
And we heard the title track from that one.
It's out on Envision Records.
Fantastic record.
Prior to Colin Stetson and Brigid Chambule, we had Garefowl, another bird-inspired project originally started by Ewan MacDonald and his father Murdo, who are relatives of one of the men who killed the last great oak, Garefowl.
This project's kind of evolved into a full band.
Fantastic kind of Celtic-inspired record.
This is a project of Jen Wasner, ex of Y Oak, from a new compilation, Maximum Minnesota, out on Sub Pop Records.
We heard Flock of Dions covering Especially Me by Low, of course.
Beautiful rendition of, yeah, Low's Especially Me.
Prior to Flock of Dions, we had Ayami Suzuki and Rob Noise from their classic Fevers and Chills album, the track The Silver Cow.
And then before that, Marine Eyes from her new record, Hidden Hour, out on her label, Cloud Collecting, and the track Little House.
That brought us back to Nova Scotia's Mamas Broke duo of Amy Lou Keeler and Lisa Maria.
We heard the track No Great Reunion from their record Reunion, out on Ford Music Europe.
