Ka-Pow the Pop Cultured Podcast #471 The Weird Al Tournament Part 1

We're going a little overboard because we love Al.

We're doing a single elimination tournament-style bracket of 64 songs.

And it was hard to narrow down, so I just tried to be as impartial as possible.

I found a list of his all-time Spotify streams.

So the most streamed song seems like that's what fans would be listening to.

That's what people would be most familiar with.

So that's where I started.

We

don't care what people.

So

So I numbered them 1 to 64.

And then that list skewed a little modern music.

I

feel like it was more his modern songs were up higher than probably deserved.

So I squeezed in a few of the old classics.

We had a chat and had a few favorites we put in.

I made sure everything that charted on Billboard got in.

So just kind of mixed and matched a little bit.

So the seeding where these landed is not scientific whatsoever.

There's very little rhyme or reason to where things are on the list.

It may not make any difference.

I won't

have to get the governor to intervene and file suit against the committee.

Are we going to address the fact that there's no polkas? This seems like a glaring thing.
