So dark, cave, very wet.
A lot of cave dwelling at that time.
Not wanting to
like...
And how were things with you and Nate at that time? Was it like you're just trying to kind of hold each other up? Were you being
positive? Were
you kind of bracing for impact? Like what was the vibe in that meeting period? Besides cave vibe.
Cave? No.
No.
So I think it's interesting because Nate and I both are very extrovert or kind of get energy from being around people.
We really are, I would say, lighthearted.
I would say the
lightest of light.
So I think that was also very difficult because I... think we were just dealing with something so unknown and so heavy and more than anything we just couldn't be our normal selves it was just hard to and then also we didn't know what was happening so I was like kind of trying to just like
limbo
yeah weird limbo like I remember it was my dad's 70th birthday and we were seeing so many friends and family and just trying to be normal when I just knew this big thing was coming yeah And the thing is, Nate, and I have learned so much from him, just like his capacity to want to be happy, I think is like a very important thing that we could all learn, but only because to be happy is an active decision you have to make.
You know, and I remember him saying, like, this all sucks and I'm really sad, but I don't want to be sad.
I want to be happy.
And, you know, I think I tried to do that to the best of my ability.
There is definitely very dark times, but then there's also really wonderful times.
So it was like a weird mix.
But then, you know, also we had Roe.
You know, you just look at him and he has the biggest smile.
