The Iliad & Odyssey were just episodes 1 & 2. The Aeneid overshadows them both.

All right.

So today we're going to be talking about the Aeneid by Virgil.

And I've always loved Greek mythology from a young age.

So it was really my pathway into the classics, even though I never really liked them until, you know, like we read the Odyssey.

Now that I'm reading this, I really think it is better than the Odyssey, though.

It's totally better.

Yeah, definitely.

Because, I mean, Virgil's just so great.

But I really want to get other people into classics through this, you know, love of the shared love of all things Greek mythology.

too, even if it's not Greek mythology.

It's Roman.

It's Roman.

Whatever.

Well, I hated mythology for years, and it was just that I was force-fed into me as I was reading it with you all.

So, but now I like it.

I like Roman better.

But because I didn't really get Greek mythology, the classics were just too confusing.

Okay, so we're getting into the Aeneid.

We're going to do one episode per book.

I think there's 12 of them.

12 books.

We're reading the one by Robert Fagles.
