Well, good evening.

We pick up again this week after a bit of a break and we find ourselves in the parasha of Kisetsi.

Kisetsi is full of mitzvahs and Let's waste no more time in getting down to business with the first of those mitzvahs that we wish to discuss this evening, and that is the mitzvah of Shiluach Haken.

Shiluach Haken, the famous situation with the mother bird, and she's on the eggs, and let us see how the Pesach describes this.

this situation, so it's towards the beginning of our parasha, Perik Kaf Beis, Pasuk Vav.

Ki karei kan sipo lefanecha, Perik Kaf Beis, Pasuk Vav.

Should the bird's nest happen before you, a derech b'chol ha'etz, whether it's on the way or various different situations.

The mother is hovering over either the young birds or eggs.

And we will come back to that expression.

That's what you shouldn't do, to take aim al-habonim.

What you should do is, in Pasuk Zion, to send the mother away, take the young for yourselves, and then it carries with it famously, the promise of reward, which not all mitzvahs do explicitly in the Chumash.

Kibbutz HaVeim famously does, and so does this.

So that's shiluach haken.
