Now, fortunately, nothing crazy in terms of a potent storm system is coming our way.
But we do have that stalled boundary offshore and a Bermuda high and a lot of moisture riding along it.
We're going to be right at the edge of this upper ridge to our west, and that's a position we've been in a few other times this summer.
So we were in that position when we had that heat wave back at the beginning of the month.
It's not going to be nearly as hot this go-round.
The entire area, though, is under a heat advisory both tomorrow and Friday evening.
looking for highs in the upper 80s to low 90s both days.
But the story is really going to be the dew points.
We could be talking about dew points in the mid to upper 70s.
And around here, that is quite impressive.
So it'll feel like 105.
Now, along the immediate south shore and across eastern Suffolk, It's the same old story.
We know what happens this time of year.
It'll be a little cooler.
We're also looking for the heat and humidity to continue into the weekend.
Now, with our area at the edge of the ridge to our west, we are going to have short waves coming around the ridge, so we've got isolated shower and thunderstorm chances Thursday and Friday.
So, for tomorrow, we're looking for anywhere from about 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. It's a 30% shot, and it looks like it's focused more on the western half of the region.
And, again, we'll do this on Friday.
Now, due to this very moist air mass that we're going to have in place, we could deal with high rainfall rates and flooding.
And the weather prediction people, both tomorrow and Friday, do have much of the area, with the exception of eastern Suffolk, in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall.
So just something to keep in mind.
The main story is just how unpleasant it's going to feel.
And we'll keep it that way.
