Wooden Spooners - Football Wagga - Tolland Wolves Co-Coach Vanessa Angel

Hi, how are you going?

Yeah, good.

It's a remarkable run of success over the last four years, but even before that, like you were contending in 2022.

What do you put that success down to over such a sustained period?

I think that it has to come back to like the core group of girls that we've been able to retain over such a long period.

When you don't have to do so much rebuilding at the start of each season, you've got the same group that's coming through year after year.

It means that, yeah, you're just stepping forward into the season already like ahead a little bit more.

And we have such a good group in that core as well, like of dedicated, really talented players.

So that definitely helps.

I mean, the cohesion, you're right, is pretty remarkable.

I think we've got 10 players in the 23-3 side that have kind of kept them and they're still playing in the grand final this week.

What keeps everyone coming back to the club?

I think beyond just a genuine love for sport, like we're all pretty good friends at the end of the day as well.

We're very serious and competitive, but we also just generally enjoy hanging out with each other and we all have very core similar values.

So I think in Poland as well, at the end of the day, the club also really well supports us.

So that all definitely adds to that great environment that I think we have within our women's side.

You had the perfect opportunity to say it's the coaching.

You really

did.

I don't know.

No, I'm never going to.

But I

don't know.

I think we've done a great job.
