The Henty Machinery Field Days really DOES have something for everyone! Jamie & Leigh caught up with Ben Newsome from the Fizzics Education Roadshow, a fun and informative science-based show for kids!…
Ben NewsomeGuestJamieHostLeighHostLooking forward to the Henty Machinery Field Days, which are happening in just about a month's time.
And one of the people who is going to be there is the crew from Physics Education.
Ben Newsome is the director of Physics Education, the roadshow coming to Henty this year.
G'day, Ben.
G'day, how you doing?
Really well, thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to have a chat.
So tell us what Physics Education is all about.
What's the roadshow about?

It's physics with F-I-Z-Z-I-Z-S. It's a bit odd, but our job is to go out and teach science in any way, shape or form.

Sometimes we're at schools and libraries, but in this case, coming down to Henty to do a bunch of science experiments.
people who have been through school and have been sort of through the early part of science think, oh, if we're doing a prac today, then it's all right.
But otherwise, this is just all prac, isn't it?

I mean, which kid doesn't love toys? Imagine having light and sound and movement and things you can fiddle and play with all under a science tent and being guided by a science presenter who's going to do liquid nitrogen shows through the day.
