Well, for millennia, the Sith Empire remained a phantom, a localized dark side civilization flourishing in the forbidden depths of the unknown regions, unseen and entirely dismissed by the core-centric Galactic Republic.

The Republic continued its outwards expansion with the arrogance of a society that believed it had charted the entirety of the galactic destiny.

Two hyperspace explorers drifting beyond the mapped frontiers of the Republic space formed a miscalculation that would become the most consequential mistake in history.

Instead of being lost to the void, their vessel breached the perimeter of the Sith Empire.

The Sith, who had been studying the Republic from afar for generations, finally had the catalyst it needed.
I guarantee you, one of them was getting intergalactic roadhead, missed the exit sign for Alpha Centauri, and accidentally crashed their ship straight into space.
Why is everything covered in spikes and red lights? But seriously, yeah, the Republic's totally ignorant here.
I mean, we live in a small planet where everyone is under constant surveillance.
We've got ring cameras watching squirrels steal Amazon packages, and we still can't stop fascist dictators from doing whatever the fuck it is they want to do.
with one another and absolutely no way to keep tabs on what's happening outside of your own little pocket republic.
