Episode 188 - It Starts at What?

Some of the some of the some interesting things coming out from Apple this week.

In fact, the this weird looking sort of G4 looking Apple Home Hub thing is supposed to be announced, I believe, later in a couple of days.

right and it's supposed to ship with an a18 chip and larry what is the apple home hub and what is it supposed to be able to do

well actually it's going to be called the home view All one word, capital V.

As Gurman said, it's going to be announced on October 13th as part of the Welcome Home event, but it will be called the Home View, and the brand is going to sit right alongside the HomePod brand for smart speakers.

I don't know if it's going to look exactly like an iMac G4.

I mean, we all remember that.

To me, that was the cutest little Mac ever made.

And we have one sitting over at our office here at the computer club.

It's a blue and white one.

Beautiful, beautiful thing.

But I don't know.

It might look like it, but we'll see.

There will also be later on, there will be a wall-mounted version of it with a square base.

The home view with a speaker base is going to come in four colors, space gray, silver, starlight, and pink.

Those four seem to be very popular colors for Apple.

The wall-mounted version will only be in monochrome silver or space gray.

The device is going to use voice input, so Siri AI is going to be the centerpiece.

That's why they had to use the A18 chip.

It will not have access to the app store, but some people they're saying might be able to project.

I'm not sure how they plan to do this.

Project third party app widgets from a nearby phone, but the apps won't be able to be loaded, just the widgets.

So alongside the HomeView unveiling, which is really more exciting to me, besides the HomeView, they're going to have a new Apple TV and a new HomePod mini.

But above and beyond that, they're going to have some LG second-party products.

Now, if you've been with Apple very long, you know that LG and Apple go back a long way.
