Iowa Business Report Tuesday Edition -- Oct. 13, 2026

The debate over artificial intelligence or super intelligence continues.

Iowa native and investment analyst Todd Sheets says accurate information on the topic is being distorted.

This is being politicized to such detrimental effect for so many Americans.

And I think fortunately, this is another thing.

I don't agree with what Trump is doing on everything, but this is another area where I think they are right on the course that we need to be on.

This is the future.

Whether we are leading it or we're not, this is gonna be the future.

And if we try and restrain and control our leading technology companies in a way that countries like China, Russia, or anywhere else in the world are not gonna be controlling them, and we can't control what they do, then we will lose this race.

And if we lose this race, we will lose the next 50 years or so.

And I think Trump, you know, he's boiled it down to a very good phrase, "Whoever wins AI wins." He's right about that.

I believe that this is going to unlock a new industrial revolution in America and for the world.

And there will be difficulties, some of them will be dangerous, that we will have to deal with as this moves forward.
