[gentle music] The last moment, the truck driver drives off the road.

Now I can see the red vehicle, which is coming at me at over 80 miles an hour.

No time to react, and he hits us head-on.

Two bodies flying through the air like rag dolls.

And we both had severely crushed left legs.

Mine had to be amputated straight away.

After 10 days, the leg was killing Chris, so I signed the amputation.

The drunk driver asked the judge if he could come across the courtroom to speak to us, and he got tears in his eyes, and he said, "Look, I can't give you your legs back.

I'm so terribly sorry for what I did to you.

Can you ever possibly forgive me?" So we said, "Yes, we forgave you actually a year ago in hospital."

Good to be here.

It's wonderful to have you guys.

So we were, just a couple months ago, we were together at, uh, Clive and Ann Mathers' fantastic, extraordinary 50th wedding anniversary celebration, and, uh, that was a superb night.

I don't know much about your backgrounds at all.

I just want to get straight into it.

Basically, folks, life can change in an instant, and you're g- we're gonna hear that.

And yes, I, I don't think I need to say anything else because there's so much I want to get into now.

Uh, so let's just, just go back.
