Send us Fan Mail **He was a college sophomore who noticed the university charged $130 to rent a loft for dorm rooms. He thought, I can build that…
Reid NyffelerGuestLinda VoHostI want to get touch base on that franchise part, but before I want to step it back and take it for the opportunities that you were able to spot and finding that purpose as well.
What advice do you give for people that miss those type of opportunities? Because, you know, like sometimes when people grow up, they might not have it all.
And some people work harder because they want more, or some people are grown up in a family that are entrepreneurs.
So they have that knack, but you know, what's the difference between somebody that can spot opportunities and somebody that takes advantage of these opportunities like the way you did because not everybody has that certain mindset to be able to create and make that much money at a young age as well especially these these days the younger generation it's just everything is quick gratification you know instant cash so Tell us a little bit in depth about more about that mindset that's needed and what sets people apart from what you did to everyday people that have that idea but don't take that action.

You know, I mean, I think, first of all, your thoughts dictate your words, dictate your actions.

Most of them are saying, why me? Why me? Why is this happening to me? And I always said, why not me, right? Why not me? Why can't I build a business? Why can't I go and make these things happen, right? Instead of being a victim of the circumstances, why can't I be the victor of those circumstances? And so I said, why can't I be the person that built a security business, a global franchisor of a security business? Why can't I be the person that hosts the Inspired by Success podcast? Why can't I be the person that learns these things, right? And ultimately, if you have that positive, optimistic view of yourself, Then you're asking a different question than why me, right? And I think why not me then inspires you to move forward.

Whereas why me hold you back because you're victimized by whatever circumstances, you know, and I'm not saying that our starting points are all the same.

I'm saying that if your starting point is different, you're going to catch up at some point for the why not me's no matter what their starting point is, will catch up to the why me's very quickly because they're going backwards.

They're looking back at the things that have happened to them and the why not me's are looking forward.

And if you can change your mind, then you will change your view, right? Because if I'm looking for opportunity, instead of looking for barriers, guess what I'm going to find? Right.

And so where people see, for example, there's this old adage that said two shoe salesmen flew to Africa.
