So what, what does the pre-con process mean to you?

Um, so at ERMCO, that starts in the estimating phase or, or what we call our, our design build pre-construction phase, uh, of the project.

So we start thinking about how we're going to execute that project, um, how we're going to attack it as we're, we're putting that estimate together.

And obviously it depends on the type of job that we, we are pursuing.

Is it design bid build? Is it design assist? Is it design, uh, build? Um, we'll, we'll attack it a different way, um, uh, as far as pre-construction's concerned.

But, uh, obviously after we're awarded the project, it moves immediately, uh, into VDC through a handoff process from our estimating team.

So-

You're jumping the gun on me.

You said some stuff about pursue projects, teams.

Talk to me a little bit more about where, when, wh- when that RFP comes in, when do you identify you have these different classifications of projects? And then is there some...

There's a process you go through in identifying, hey, I need this person to help with, uh, uh, labor planning.

I need this person to help with, eh, marketing.

I need this person to review the execution plan for the VDC or BIM process.

What does that look like for you, and how do you rally the team at that initial RFP and then decision around the job, and like what does that look like before we go to VDC?

[laughs]

Uh, so at ERMCO, we're structured with, uh, team leads in the estimating department that have three or four estimators, uh, in, in each of those teams that report to them.

So those teams will attack all of those processes together.

Obviously, um, the turnaround time in an estimate has, has been constrained quite a bit.

Uh, and, and obviously one person can't, can't do all of it, so those teams work together.

Some are, uh, more versed at reviewing, uh, uh, some of the, you know, documentation, and some, uh, are better versed at, at doing quantity takeoff and, and working with our vendors and subcontractors, um, to get pricing.
