Season 2: Episode 4: Brian "Waterhead Bo" Bennett: The Cocaine Prodigy

Brian, what is all that noise?

How'd they find my inhaler?

I told you about keeping your stuff in the right place.

Now look at you.

They ripped the whole damn drawer out.

Clean this up.

Yes, ma'am.

Bo's family relocated to South Central Los Angeles, California, which is now known as just South Los Angeles in the 60s during the era of the Great Migration.

Although they weren't from the South, they were native Detroiters.

The family purchased a home on Florence Avenue And the Great Migration saw many Black Americans moving north and out west in search of new opportunity and legacy.

Bo grew up with four siblings from his mother, Minnie Finley's previous marriage.

Minnie married Bo's father, Ernest Lee Bennett, who she had Bo with.

And Bo was the family favorite.

This is our new home, sunny California.

And y'all bet not getting no trouble out here or I'm on your asses.

Wow, look at those

trees, man.

It's hot.

Daddy, can we get something to drink?

Damn, we just got here and you asking for shit.

Hold on, girl.

Ernest, relax.

I think I like it out here better than Detroit already.

What you think, Bo?

The pudgy-faced boy stands there, looking up at the sky, then smiles.
