So these different experiences, these different groups you've belonged to and that you've done things with, what have you learned? What have you learned about Oakland? What have you learned about yourself, about working with these different committees and doing these different projects?

I think, you know, I learned that Oakland, the people in Oakland, absolutely 100 love each other and they all they want is what's best for oakland it doesn't matter if you have an r next to your name or a d next to your name or an i you know in your name uh that they just want you know they just want what everybody else wants and they want Oakland to stay a small town community feel.

And I think the biggest concern with people now, you know, in town is that Oakland won't be that small town feel.

So I think that's the biggest concern.

But I've learned a lot about people.

One of the things I learned when I was running was just, you know, you can walk in different sections of town.

And even though it's all Oakland, people have different issues.

Right.

So if you're walking in the lake, you know, At the time, people were very concerned about what was happening with the lake and the lawsuit of the lake.

And then I would walk in another section and people were concerned about, you know, what's going on with septic and sewer.

And so even though it's a small little town, everybody in different sections have different issues.

And you know the great thing about it too, about being a small town? We all know each other.

Everybody knows each other.

We all drive each other's kids to games and to practices and to school and we're there to look after each other, which is, yeah, that's great.

That's really great.

What opportunities excite you most about Oakland? If you look at Oakland as a whole, there's a lot of opportunity.

What is it that I would say excites you most?

I think just staying as a small community, the opportunities in town with just all the volunteering.

I honestly think that we need more volunteers on every level to make Oakland beautiful.

And whether it's just volunteering for your kids' events, or if it's just giving an hour of your time at the food bank in town, or there's just so many volunteering opportunities So many different things that you can volunteer for, even if you just have a small amount of time.

I think that excites me the most.

It's just seeing people get involved and seeing the town just flourish from the volunteers we have.

And hopefully everybody's allowed to volunteer.

That's what makes Oakland so unique.

I refer to it as the phrase uniquely Oakland because we're out there to volunteer.
