And it got way into production and into just like the glitz and the production, like just huge stages and all this stuff, and it, it just got out of hand.

Even in like 2000 or nine- you know, 1999, 2000, it was starting to get out of hand of like megachurches and things like that, which we can talk about that if you want to.

But it, it, he basically said that his church that he was a part of decided to take a season of not having any music.

So they took away all of the lights, they took away all of the instruments, and they made it just simply singing, voices and a guitar, like to lead.

So he, if you, if we'll go through the lyrics a little bit, but that's why he created that song, that came out of that.

That's wild that it, it, that even then there was that, um, just that, uh, churches were like creating these spectacles.

I went to a, like I said, when I went to college, went to this Assembly of God, like this like Appalachian Assembly of God church, which is pretty small.

And then I came, when I, when I came back home, um, it was b- I went back to my, I went back to my home church, which was the like charismatic Pentecostal church, and that was pretty small too.

So like the idea of like spectacle and production just was not, wasn't, it wasn't an idea, and I didn't know that was a, even a thing back then.

So I was, I, I was, I've read some books by him and, and recently, like within the last, I don't know, I think it, I was looking it up, it said like 2019 or 2020, he also deci- like he, he leads th- he, or he was leading this church in California that grew like from 30 to like 60,000 people in like 10, 15 years, and he got so despondent about it that he was like, "This isn't the-- This is getting too much." And he actually removed himself from the church and decided to move away.

We're losing focus of what..." So there's, uh, so anyways, he's l- he was saying, "We're losing focus of what, you know, it's, it's too much." And so he pulled away, went to another country, came back to the US, and he is now just like building home churches where there's not-
