Do you think this is, this is the start of, like, a permanent shift in kind of the power in, in Scottish football? Do we think it'll go back to what it was previously? What do you guys think?
With, with the new investment with Tony Bloom, I think he, he made some bold statements at the start of last season.
I don't think he anticipated that it would come to fruition as soon as that, but I don't know what you think, John.
Um, I think just both Celtic and Rangers have probably got a lot of work to do to get back to where they see themselves being, and I think that kind of vacuum that's been created, Hearts have certainly stepped into that, and I, I don't see Hearts falling off the edge of a cliff over the next 12 months.
I think they'll be there to compete, and providing that that level of investment's still going to be there, which Tony Bloom seems like he's insistent it being there longer term, so I'd imagine that they'll be there or thereabouts, yeah.
It was before Tony Bloom and Hearts even became a thing, and we were saying that Rangers and Celtic are continually asleep at the wheel because they've got so much money, so much funding, they can just go and buy new players and hire a new manager, sack a whole backroom staff, that they've never had to worry about somebody doing it right.
And at that point, we thought it was Aberdeen because the way Jimmy Thelin had started.
Um, and then Hearts have came along, and I think this is what I was afraid of, and I think the worst thing that happened for Celtic fans, and the best thing that's happened for Hearts, is Celtic have won again, and in experience will show you Celtic will always do the easiest thing-
Just keep probably Martin O'Neill or a Robbie Keane, somebody that's the very status quo of what Celtic is, appoint Sean Maloney or technical director, and just do the same thing again.
I don't, I don't think they'll massively change what they've been doing because, I mean, although they got lucky in the end, they still won the league, and I think that'll only benefit Hearts.
Rangers are going to do the same thing that they've done for six years now, and they're going to go into a transfer window and spend 50 million and throw it against the wall and see what happens.
