IMPLOSION! – 5 August 2026

Oh, hi there, everyone, and welcome to KDRT 95.7 FM, coming to you direct from Davis, California.

I'm Nick Salomon.

I'm introducing a program called Implosion.

I shall be with you for just under an hour's time, and I hope you enjoy it.

So what's been going on in my world? Not much, really.

Well, I've been in the studio working on a project at the many people but yeah i got asked uh by the record label to do a an album of cover versions which i always i was kind of not really into it because i kind of my my thoughts are that it usually means if someone does an album of cover versions that they've run out of ideas and i certainly haven't run out of ideas but then uh But then I was kind of persuaded into it and having kind of said, yeah, all right, I'll do it.

I've got quite into it now and I've been having fun kind of choosing what I was going to cover, what songs and what tunes.

Basically, I thought I wouldn't go for the obvious stuff.

So I haven't covered, you know, Hendrix or stuff like that or Beatles and things like that.

I've kind of gone for a kind of... less obvious stuff you know but still you know good I'm really pleased with it it's almost finished now kind of I've got six of the twelve tracks done and dusted and finished and mixed and mastered and everything and I've just got to finish off do the last bits it's all recorded it's just a case of kind of mixing six more and getting them mastered and then we're done you know so it's yeah should be kind of interesting apparently it's going to be released on record store day in 2027 so yeah that should be yeah good I might even live to enjoy it there you go So we're going to start today, as usual, with an instrumental.
