Hello lovely souls,Welcome to my 10th episode!! Can't believe I've already been doing this for 10 weeks. In this episode I am sitting down with a friend in Sydney who I know from back home and we talk…
So how did you find it then about coming here and starting a new life? Because it's a bit different than from what I've done, because obviously I mean, when I first came out, I kind of had to do the same because I only knew Sydney.
Yeah.
And I mean, the first seven months I was living in Melbourne
of
my visa.
And so there was the, okay.
Having to find new people, make friends, find work, find a place to live and all those kinds of things.
But then obviously from then on, every single time that I moved, I was basically staying at hostels or staff accommodation.
That sounds like a nightmare to me.
I'm
sorry.
I can't do this life.
Hostels, please.
So it was really easy to find a community.
It was honestly one of the easiest things that you could do because everyone was just there.
Everyone was in the same shoes.
Everyone was there to... do their regional work.
So we're all suffering together, not getting jobs because it's really hard to, but then obviously that's a lot.
It's still hard because had to obviously just tear everything down and build everything up from scratch again, over and over again.
Um, and so that obviously is hard, but then, yeah, now having to actually, build a life finding friends in your adulthood yeah over here how's how's how's that been
it's been a journey definitely like i came here to the city and i literally knew two people i've got one other german friend that i know here that i know through friends and we spent some time together over the past times when i would visit it so like that was like a locked in kind of person But then also there was another girl that then moved to Sydney, which I used to teach at the school.
And she was I think she was in year 11.
And we got along quite well.
