Ep#882: 3 Essential Mindset Shifts for Fearless Public Speaking

Fear is one of the biggest obstacles that holds people back from speaking confidently in public.

But here's the truth.

It's not about eliminating fear completely.

It's about changing the way you think about fear.

And today I'm about to share with you three mindset shifts that will help you overcome your fear so that you can speak with confidence no matter the situation.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Shift number one, public speaking is not about perfection.

It's all about connection.

That's an original quote of mine.

And many people fear public speaking because they worry about making mistakes.

But the truth is your audience does not care about perfection.

They care about human connection.

When you shift your focus from being perfect to building a connection with your audience, the pressure eases and speaking becomes more natural.

I once worked with a client who used to freeze up over the idea of making small mistakes.

By focusing on connecting with his audience instead of delivering a perfect speech, he now found himself speaking with more ease and confidence.

And that is shift number one, which is public speaking is not about perfection, it's all about connection.
