Like, "Oh, I went to the gym today, so now I can have that snack.
Oh, I did all the stuff that I needed to do on my to-do list, so now I can rest." You're allowed to rest in between.
I feel like your kids will, like, dictate that a little bit too.
Like, sometimes they just, you know, they'll, like, hop on your lap and, like, just need a snuggle, and it's, like, such a great reminder to just be like, "The dishes can wait.
The laundry can wait.
Whatever can wait.
I can be right here in this moment, and it will be perfect."
And giving yourself that grace.
Like, just because you're taking a little break doesn't mean that you're being lazy, doesn't mean that you're procrastinating.
It's that weight that we kind of put on our shoulders sometimes that isn't necessary to be there.
And remember that you're allowed to change your mind.
If something comes up, if you made plans with somebody, you're allowed to change your mind and decide that maybe this isn't something you wanna do today.
Again, your kids will dictate-
[laughs]
... for you because if you say yes to something and then they are having a day-
Yeah
... guess what? I might not wanna go anymore.
I might not want to, 'cause I know it's gonna be more stressful than just staying home or doing the other thing.
Give yourself permission to say, "You know what? I think we're gonna reschedule." [laughs]
Yeah.
And then think about, like, what is something that you're holding onto because you're afraid of disappointing someone else, right? Because then you're putting that onto, uh, the weight from someone else onto yourself, and that's not fair to you either.
It's not necessary.
