Join us for How We Roll's first decent into the horror of Cthulhu Dark. With guest keeper Mr Spike at the helm we have a treat in store for you. With huge thanks to Battle…
So, you are making best speed as you can, uh, up towards the mine.
It's a good 20 minutes away.
Uh, and the, uh, the path that you're wor- walking on is starting to get wet and muddy.
Um, it's, uh, cold.
Your clothes are starting, uh, to get wet as well th- through the rain.
Um, and you can see up ahead you, up ahead of you, you can see this, uh, silhouette of the few buildings, administrative buildings and so forth around the mine itself.
Dominating this is the large, al- almost skeleton-like shape of the, uh, the headgear.
Um, huge steel construction which looms, looms in front of you.
Um, what are you all thinking as you're heading up this, this hill? You're, you're now getting really tired.
You're getting wet.
It's been a long, trying day, and you're heading up towards this, this, this mine.
You're not even sure how you're gonna get in, what you're gonna do when you get there.
What's, uh, what's Verity thinking?
I think part of him is really numb.
Like, he's, he's...
It's dawned on him that this is probably the end of his life in the village.
He's cut all ties, and something that he's worried about for the last few months since his father died has now finally come true.
He's an absolute outcast, and obviously he's cold, and hasn't really slept, and is also, has this deep existential dread of whatever this creature or entity that is plaguing him and the village.
But I think what's powering him on and allowing him to take that step after step towards whatever ending awaits him is the fact that he actually isn't alone.
I think ever since his father died, he has very much been alone.
His job going down and unblocking the sumps and doing the, the, the grudge work at the mine, he has had to do completely on his own after working with people, particularly family, for his entire life.
And I think that is keeping him going and providing him with a, a spark of hope.
And what about, uh, what about Verity's brother, Amity? There's no love lost between the two of them since, uh, the events in the, in the mine, um, all those w- all those months, is it years ago now? Time, time seems to be stretching out, and it's almost one day bleeds into another, and it's hard to, hard to even remember what day of the week it is.
What is, uh, what is Amity thinking, feeling?
Mm.
