Uh, my guest today is coming to us from the Communist Party USA headquarters in Houston.
His name is John Carter, and he is a current and decades-long member of the Communist Party USA, also known as, you know, CPUSA for short.
I was out earlier today, uh, going door to door for a candidate and, uh, you know, doing... mixing my political work with, uh, my elector- you know, my electoral work, mixing it with my economic struggle, and mixing it with the ideological struggle.
[chuckles] I apologize, my dog is currently, um, ripping her blanket into pieces on the floor in front of me, so if you hear any strange noises, that is what is happening.
Um, I wanna definitely talk about your personal history with organizing, um, specifically, you know, with the Communist Party.
But before we get into that, um, I was wondering if you could give us just a little bit of background about CPUSA, um, a, a, a little brief history of the Communist Party, if you will.
