The check engine light and the low tire pressure light are glowing prominently in the dawn here.

One should not drive eight hours with the check engine light and the low tire pressure light on.

But I have very good reason to suspect my tire is not at one pound of pressure, as the dash display is advertising.

And after attaching the diagnostic dongle thingy, I've traced the check engine light to a bad oil pressure sensor.

In fact, I then noticed that the oil pressure gauge reads zero, and yet I have exactly the right amount of oil on the dipstick and absolutely none of the symptoms which would tend to go with zero oil pressure.

So, I'm not proud of the situation, and just like with the boat, I'm not recommending a cavalier attitude towards maintenance.

But I need to get to the boat so I can try to do some much-needed maintenance on the engine.
