And new data on land prices demonstrates the affordability factor that is driving buyers to invest in Logan City, which sits between two far more expensive markets, Brisbane City and the Gold Coast.

Now Oliver Hume data reveals Logan's median price for a block of residential land is around $480,000, which is significantly more affordable than Brisbane's median of $1.26 million and the Gold Coast median of $820,000.

Brisbane media reports that there's been a surge in demand for Logan City property from Brisbane City and Gold Coast families who are searching for more affordable options.

Brisbane and Gold Coast buyers are bypassing their own backyards for Logan, where land prices undercut both cities by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

At the same time, major national developer Mirvac reports that over half of land sales in the past year at one of its housing estates in Logan City have been to Brisbane and Gold Coast purchases.
