[upbeat music] I know someone's out there.
Hey there, listeners.
Welcome to Horror Movie Club, the show where two dudes who are not quite nerds but not quite noobs choose a horror movie each week to rate and review.
I'm Brian, I'm on the phone with Ashwin, and today we are talking about "Insidious: Out of the Further" from 2026, directed by Jacob Chase, written by Jacob Chase and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, starring Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Lynn Shay, Sam Spruell, and Island Austin.
In this film, a mother still haunted by the suicide and mental illness of her own mother when she was a child begins to descend into similar behaviors that bring back memories of her mother.
Is she succumbing to a mental illness or simply slipping into the Further? If you're new to the show, we're gonna do some spoiler-free background info discussion on this movie for the first 15, 20 minutes or so, and then we will play some transition music and move into spoiler mode where we walk through the plot in detail, reviewing the film as we go, then we'll rate it from zero to five.
So if you haven't seen the movie, you're welcome to hang out for 15 minutes or so until you hear that transition music, but after that we're gonna spoil some stuff.
