Okay ladies, we’re talking about your husband today. I’m joined by Leisha Drews, host of the…
Leisha DrewsGuestYeah, I mean, I think one of the ways that, obviously my listeners are very familiar that how we operate when looking at anything someone might be struggling through is that you're a whole human, so mind, body, spirit.
So we are looking again at lifestyle factors and minerals, which are kind of the baseline foundation for everything, sometimes iron and copper.
And then for mindset and spiritual, we're actually gonna talk about that a little bit later in the episode.
So you're gonna understand, hey, there's roots that are below the hormones, just like what Lecha said, and these are what we see are the most common roots.
One thing I wanted to hit on, s- it was funny you were like, "Belly weight," and I was like, yeah.
My brain immediately went to, if you have a husband that kind of has that typical dad bod and he's struggling with sleep or energy or even feeling super scattered and you're like, "Hey, in the last few years I've noticed he seems very ADD.
He seems very, struggles with dopamine, needing dopamine hits," or he seems more addicted to his phone or more addicted to the TV, those can also be things that intertwine.
Then you mentioned libido, Lecha, and I just wanted to hit on this too, because I see a lot with low testosterone this combination of I feel like libido can be low or high, and sometimes it's not always libido either.
So the reason I say this is because we know that one of the number one drivers of low testosterone is actually inappropriate viewing of sexual things, and it's so easy in today's age for men.
He had to for work, and I remember the first time I just had his phone or was doing something or he showed me something and I went to his for you page and was like, "What is happening here? What is this?" And he's, I mean, he maybe had the Instagram two days, and the things that were being pushed to his page was, like, half of, you know, what he does for work and what he would've had Instagram for, and then just randomly all of these very inappropriate things.
You can do that now, change your algorithm things, and I was, like, so sad that we had to intentionally do that because he's, "I don't wanna see these things.
I don't know how to get it to stop." And so I say that because I think that having low testosterone, when I say it can show up either way, it can be that he's actually pushing, it seems like his libido's higher, but it's really because he's needing that dopamine hit.
Or you can associate libido in the sense of, well, it seems like his libido is high because he seems very addicted to these other things, but that can actually be a low testosterone, low libido problem that his brain is trying to get the reward center activated because the levels are so low normally.

I think that, again, when we're talking about, like, this whole, you know, we start, we just go straight into low testosterone, but if we're thinking about our husbands and, like, how we want them to be able to optimally function, to feel good, to have long-term health because we want them around a long time, we want them to not only, you know, just live a long time, but live fully, live in a thriving way, right?

And so whether that's now or that's later, we, I mean, of course we want it to be both, we, we do have to consider that neurotransmitters are gonna play a role in mood as well.

There's never just one thing that we're looking at when we want to improve function for someone overall.
