Hormone Happy Hour with Dr. Heather Rhodes
May 25, 2026 · 45 min · 11 segments
This episode of the Hormone Happy Hour is a little more honest, direct, and “big sister” style. I’m sharing some life updates, celebrating some really beautiful client wins lately, and talking through…
I don't even know which one I wanna start with.
[laughs] There are so many good ones.
Okay.
I am going to actually start with something I talk about all the time, and it is that if you rebalanced your minerals, you could cut your work in half.
So you might be like, "Wait.
What?" Yes.
When you decide that you are going to come in and take a holistic approach to your body, specifically your fertility, the first thing you wanna do is make sure every system that your body has is on board and doing its job well.
And if it's not, which is probably why you have symptoms, which is probably why your fertility is struggling, which is probably why whatever the root cause is affecting your fertility are happening, right? So let's, like, back this up a little bit.
If we think about what are the main things...
If we just had to summarize, like, what are the main things that can influence fertility? You're gonna have male factor.
You're gonna have issues with mitochondria, which is really just a body that needs energy, that needs copper and needs oxygen.
Ding, ding, ding.
What does that sound like? Our iron copper recycling center.
But let me back this up.
I won't go off on that tangent right now.
[laughs] Inflammation, the body's, like, actively fighting things, and so it can't prioritize fertility.
So what we have male factor.
We have mitochondria.
That's gonna be, like, along the lines of, like, egg quality and that type of thing.
Inflammation, gut health, these are like...
The three I just mentioned are kind of like the deep pieces, okay? So you don't always need something that deep.
But if it's been a while and you are still struggling to conceive or you've done a handful of things and it's still not happening, then I would say those are, like, the deeper places that you're gonna wanna look.
There's also people whose bodies just need to feel safe enough to prioritize fertility, but that word safety can feel really confusing, okay? But if I look at these main pieces that I just described that have the biggest impact on fertility, we're thinking, like, does your body have the ingredients to make a baby? Does your body have the ingredients to make hormones? Does your body have the energy to make billions and billions and billions of cells in a nine-month period? And if your body doesn't have those things, then because it hasn't had those things for the last, you know, year, two years, or decade, what is it...
What is...
Because it hasn't had when it's needed, it's obviously slowed down, and because it's been slowed down, what has built up? What is, like, sludgy in there? What toxins aren't getting out? What heavy metals are causing inflammation? What bacteria need to be shifted? So when you think about it in that way, and we say, "Okay.
I don't even know which one I wanna start with.
