In this episode I shine light on the behind the scenes of my own personal homefullness challenge & opportunity, and the same for the show itself. I've got to move: My tiny home lease at the Riverside…
So as I mentioned, I'm in a tiny home.
Now, I did choose a tiny home because I felt at the time that it was all I had available to have my own place the way I wanted it, not having to share with anybody else.
Now, it does give me a sense of security, but unfortunately, the land is still an issue.
As we know, the laws haven't quite caught up.
Policy regulation doesn't quite recognize the tiny home as its own entity.
And so if one owns one's own land and then moves a tiny home on, That's easy, usually.
But in the case of where I don't have any land or someone doesn't, it does create a little bit of a challenge.
So luckily, I came here to Riverside and I have felt quite secure and at home and I have loved it.
So the big things around the tiny home that I really like are that I designed it myself.
I actually worked with the builder and I created the space that has lots of windows.
In fact, I'm looking right out at three trifold door.
It's all window and I've just got a beautiful view in front of me.
I really love that I have almost like nature inside my home.
The other thing that's really important to me about a house is that it's got natural materials.
It's got a wood feel or earthen if I had the case to build out of earth.
But in this case, I've got nice wood walls, wood ceilings and beautiful bamboo flooring, which just gives this really rich sense of texture and a natural feel.
The other thing I love about my house is that I put in special lighting that's dimmable and that's on the wall.
So it sort of illuminates the space from the side rather than shining a harsh light like a spotlight over my face.
So I really wanted warm lighting and it feels so warm in this house at night.
The glow from the walls.
I just love it.
The other thing I really like is the coziness in my living room.
My bedroom is up above, so the ceiling is a little bit lower here, and it just feels like it wraps around me.
I do have a comfy couch, which helps.
And then the rest of the space is just easy to clean, easy to tend.
