So there's a prayer that Christians have been praying for thousands of years, and it's three simple words.

And I don't know if you have ever joined all the other believers that have prayed this prayer, but maybe you have.

Maybe you're like, nope, never prayed it because I'm not 100% sure how things are gonna go down.

I hope he doesn't return before I get to do the thing, you know, that married couples do, right? Like if you're a kid, you've had that thought, unfortunately, right? You're like, if you come back too soon, I won't get to experience X, Y, and Z, Lord.

But that kind of got me thinking a little bit more in that vein of like, well, is that me going, God, are you really gonna bring something better? than what is offered when life is really good.

So we may not join with the thousands of years of believers who have begged the Lord to come Return, king, Jesus, come and rule and reign over your people.

We may be people who are like, well, God, you know, I could use a little more time hanging out here.

So if you're getting around to it, but there's not really like a desperation in us for the king to come.

Maybe one of the reasons we don't anticipate Christ's return is is that we're not completely convinced his return will be good news for us.

Maybe you've been someone who says, when Jesus comes back and I stand before him, am I going to be okay? And maybe at the end of the day, that's what we're mulling over.

Do we actually want Christ's return? And if I'm not certain about that thought, then of course I'm not praying come Lord Jesus.
