Most of us are carrying a money story we never chose — a comment from a teacher, a moment we felt "not enough" — and it's still quietly running the show. Have you ever wondered why you can advocate…

Sara GelsheimerHostSusan JonesHostAnd Nadia, I think, you know, it's so interesting as you're talking about, you know, your journey and the need for self-advocacy.
Why do you think that so many women in particular struggle so much with self-advocacy? Because even in your story, I mean, you're the strong woman, had your own business, had done all these great things, all the certifications.
And yet still, it's really a very dramatic event for you to even kind of seem to recognize it within yourself.

I think what I've learned from my own self and the women that I coach, it's habitual, it's upbringing, and it's the people around you, which is why I love what I do because it's like... get into different rooms, right? Listen to a different podcast, travel somewhere different, go to a different coffee shop, because that is where you find those little nuggets that you can put into your own pocket and create your own advocacy, like how you want to do it.

I think when people think, especially women that... may have grown up a certain way um like their mother didn't really advocate or their the women that in their lives didn't or maybe women that did they were spoken about negatively i think they think of as being loud and being uncouth and like it's not that it's whatever you want it to be it's speaking up for yourself and so many times Another thing that a lot of the women do and that I used to do and I'm still trying not to do is apologize.

childhood or something that they've experienced has caused them to quiet their voice and then that just became their narrative right like if i speak up right now i'm going to be laughed at or if i speak oh i don't really know what i'm talking about and then they just take that on as their identity when it really isn't it was just an isolated situation

Yeah, you touched on so many different aspects just in your story about what so many women struggle with.

Like I heard imposter syndrome, like you felt the need to go get all these certifications when you probably were already very well qualified.
