Sara GelsheimerHostSusan JonesHostSo 10 years ago, I was a partner at a really big accounting firm and I was working a ton of hours.
And so I really felt a lot, there was a lot of struggle going on, not struggle I should say, but it was a very time in my life of a lot of different priorities that were very time consuming.
And so, you know, when I think about money and what I would tell myself, that was really a point where I felt like I had to kind of maximize what I was earning, but also in a way that didn't like scar my kids forever.
And I think I would just tell myself to like give myself a little bit of grace because I definitely did not.
I think I also would have told myself to take a little bit of a longer view about what life was going to look like because that was, and part of it was when I was working at the accounting firm as a partner, there was a mandatory retirement.
And this is no big secret that most really large accounting firms do have a mandatory retirement age that was relatively young.
And so that was something that also added a little bit of pressure when I thought about um working and moving up and doing all the things i wanted to so it was um yeah interesting time
