And so you start looking and you're like, what did I do wrong? This is the point where you have to decide, is the issue what I'm actually giving? Is it the way I'm talking about it, the messaging? Or is it a audience problem? So is it offer? Is it messaging? Or is it audience? A lot of times the issue is messaging, but this episode is going to be about what if it's the audience? So I'm someone who has zero interest in soccer, football, whatever you want to call it.

I will watch some of the World Cup games because I like the energy, but I couldn't tell you all the rules or anything.

And if they're showing it to everyone like me and they're going to look and be like, wow, this is a bad offer.

And so this happens quite a bit where you have to think about is the person you're talking to really the right person? I think it's especially difficult when you have a service business because with products, a lot of times we kind of know who needs them and people can more easily identify.

With services, it's harder because you might think, oh, this would be super valuable to XYZ people.

So when I first started doing podcast programs and coaching for people, I thought, oh, I was a wellness professional and I would have loved to have gotten help on starting a podcast.

So why don't I target all of these wellness people, wellness coaches, et cetera, like let me do this and do podcast coaching for them.

But when it came to the paid, the commitment, the going forward, it was like crickets.

And I started realizing it's because it was the wrong audience that while maybe these people like the idea of a podcast, the reality is, is that most of them didn't have the time or the resources to really invest in it.

they were so busy just trying to get clients and so busy just trying to survive right that the idea of taking on another project was something that felt good maybe later on and it didn't matter how much i tried to say you get this money back you get the clients once i shifted to say okay this is not the right audience then i started seeing that the offer sold If you're in this position where you're either selling something that's not working or you are thinking about pivoting into a new group, a new audience, take the time to ask the questions, to ask them deeper than would you want this? It doesn't necessarily mean they're the wrong audience because they don't want it.

So think about that before you scrap whatever you're doing, before you start second guessing yourself.

And if you're in the position of, you know, maybe I'm going to do something different.

Then you can also take a moment, step back and say, who is the right audience for this? Because maybe it's not who I've always worked with before.
