The $2.7 Million House I Couldn't Afford | WSABM Chapter 6

I wanna start by telling the story at the beginning.

I'm not gonna read it to you because I know it by heart, okay? But it starts with the doorbell ringing, okay? And if it wasn't a FedEx delivery guy, it would be a Jehovah's Witness or someone else ringing the bell.

And this was very disruptive.

I was running my law practice at the time.

And every single day, my desk was shoved right next to the front door, okay? Like we had a little foyer that really is meant to like put down your shoes, hang your coat, blah, blah, blah.

But instead of doing that, we had no other place.

And our house was 1,100 square feet.

It was a two bedroom, 1,100 square foot house.

where I lived with my husband and three children, okay? So these are my eldest children.

My younger one didn't come along until later.

So I had a teenager and two toddlers in this tiny two bedroom house.

How did I do it? Well, the toddlers were in our room and then the teenager had her own room and then at one point we swapped we gave them the master bedroom so we had the teenager and the two toddlers in the bigger room and we were in this my husband and i were in the smaller room okay we were just trying to make it work in this tiny little house and so i was working from home as an attorney and so i had a desk and it was literally it like the desk just fit right next to the door between the front door and the wall you know, this little foyer area.

And so that's where I sat.

And so people would come and they would ring the bell.

And unfortunately they would see me sitting right there in front of the front window.

And so they would knock, if I didn't answer, they would come tap on the window and stare me right in the face.

and be like, ma'am, open this door.

And I'm like, I am working.

I am drafting contracts.

I am talking to clients.

I am doing all kinds of things to keep my law practice going.

I am selling.

I am marketing.

I am doing it all.

and getting interrupted all day long.
