Sy'rai Smith is stepping into her own spotlight. The daughter of R&B icon and “The Vocal Bible” Brandy, Sy'rai sits down with Reginae for a candid conversation about what it was really like growing up in one of music’s most recognizable families and what it takes to carve out an identity of her own. Sy'rai opens up about pursuing music while navigating the inevitable comparisons to her famous mother, finding her own sound and confidence as an artist, and the lessons she’s picked up from Brandy along the way. She also gets into her close-knit family, life with her uncle Ray J, and the unique experiences that come with being part of an R&B dynasty. Plus, Sy'rai takes us inside her newest album, sharing the inspiration behind the project and why this chapter is about more than carrying on a legacy it’s about creating one of her own.
