And it's been exactly four weeks since the Edmonton Oilers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Anaheim ducks.

Have you been watching a lot of playoff hockey this past month, or are you taking a bit of a break and mostly just following the Oilers off season news?

I am catching things here and there, but I don't think I've watched anything from start to finish.

I am kind of taking a bit of a break, spending more time with my wife, Laura.

I mean, these last two playoff runs, they've been really special, of course, but it does take up a lot of your time.

It's a lot of nights where you don't get much sleep because even after the game's over, I'm doing a video and that keeps me up for a while longer.

And obviously...

Playoff hockey, there's a lot of adrenaline.

It's hard to go to sleep.

So not many people in Edmonton and oil country fans are getting much sleep during those playoff runs.

But it is kind of nice to have a little bit of a break for everybody, players, fans included.

But from what I've watched, there has been some fantastic hockey for sure, but definitely missing the Oilers and looking forward to getting back to it full steam next year.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more, and I'm pretty much the same as you.

I don't think I've watched a full game since the Oilers' season ended, but I'll catch a period or two of another series here and there.

I mean, in three of the previous four years, the Oilers were playing hockey into June, and if we go even beyond that...

They won a playoff series for four years straight.

I mean, that kind of consistency doesn't happen.

You look at even the best teams in the NHL to win one round for four straight years, even though it was the same opponent for the Oilers all four times.

Like the Tampa Bay Lightning are one of the premier teams in the league.

They haven't won a series since they won or since they lost in the 2022 Stanley Cup final, I should say.

the Colorado avalanche since winning their cup in 2022, they've bowed out in either the first or second round in the previous three years before reaching the conference final and losing this year.

So, yeah, I mean, it's been pretty special that we've been, we've had the opportunity to see the Oilers go on these deep runs, as I said, in three of the past four seasons.

And hopefully there's going to be more of a, more of those years to come with Connor McDavid and Leon Dreisaitl leading the way.

And basically we're, When you're so used to having playoff hockey to talk about at this time of year, it's a little disappointing that they didn't go on another run.

But do you think that having an extra two or two and a half months off to rest and recover this summer could actually be a blessing in disguise for this group?
