They Lost Their Daughters at Camp Mystic… Here's What They Found

So I'm just curious in the past year or so, since you've lost your daughters, how has this changed your perspective of heaven?

I'll start.

I had a very difficult time actually contemplating what heaven was and getting a sense for eternity for a long time.

One of the things that our pastor said to Allie and I, our first meeting with him, was, you know, I think, you know, this is me paraphrasing for him, but he said, I've come to the conclusion that, you know, I used to think when we die, we're going to have all these questions.

We're going to ask Jesus, you know, please answer this.

He said, now I've come to a different conclusion, and I think it's when we die, we're going to go, oh, I see.

I understand it.

And I'm hopeful for that, too.

But I think what is really changed, you know, my perspective on heaven and given me the most hope of knowing where when and Kelly and Molly and the rest of the girls are is it's kind of been inspired by John Burke and through, you know, his research on Indies, his book, Imagine Heaven.

Um, he just paints such a clear, you know, wonderful picture of, of what heaven is like, what it's like to be in the presence of Jesus and, you know, the presence of the Lord and the vividness, the reality of it.

And that's why I said earlier, I mean, our girls are, are alive.

They're more alive today than they, they ever have been.

And, you know, it's, it's, made heaven more tangible.

That's Wynn's home now.

And, you know, well, I've I've had loss, you know, earlier in my life.

All of my grandparents had passed away.

My dad passed away when I was 17.

You know, having having Wynn there just made it so much more real.

And, you know, it's where I want to be.

You know, frankly, granted, I love this life, love this earth.

There are many, many great things about it.

But aligning my time here, excuse me, aligning my time here, you know, storing up treasure in heaven, not on earth, that has become a priority of mine.

And I think that's the best way that I can put it.
