It's fascinating when you read the Torah, the first five books of the Old Testament, at the beginning of Deuteronomy, there's a summary of those first five books.
And this is a prayer that pious Jewish people, including Jesus, would start their day with and end their day with.
And Abbey, I will say to you, the largest change in my life I was 20 years old, I was so opinionated.
I had comments and judgments on the entire world, and I had a determined plan that I wanted to enact.
And when I encountered the Lordship of Jesus in that little church, I learned the value of posturing myself as listening.
So one of the key things that Scripture tells us how the Lord speaks is that the Lord will almost never give you the full story.
It's a little frustrating, right? I read the Gospels and Jesus walks past Peter and he says, come and follow me.
And what I want Peter to ask is, where are we going? Who's going to take care of us, right? What's the plan? Where will I sleep? What will I eat? And yet the only thing that Jesus said is, follow me.
Genesis 22, where the Lord spoke to Abraham and said, take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go and offer him on a mountain.
