Sonic Branding is a Lifetime Opportunity

What are CMOs still too censored about?

Oh.

Well, the thing is about CMOs is many of them have to stick to a script.

I

mean, one of the reasons I invented the podcast in the first place is I was in Cannes.

We had a joke, didn't we, before about Cannes and Cannes here.

Yeah.

I was in Cannes.

Cannes, Australia versus Cannes, France.

Cannes, Australia versus

Cannes in France.

They're easily confused when you pronounce it.

And I was on the beach and I'd done my first ever panel session at Cannes.

I'd never been as a client, actually.

I'd never, ever been.

And I got invited.

I was actually unemployed at the time.

And I got interviewed by CNBC.

And at the end of the interview, the guy stopped the camera.

He looked at me and he said, you are the first uncensored CMO I've met this week.

And I've interviewed 15 CMOs.

Now, of course, when I used to be a CMO, I was briefed right up to the final.

I could only say certain things.

I had to stick to scripts.

Whatever question you asked me, I had to pivot to the talking points.
