The places that we were going were, you know, what the hell was I doing in here? I didn't like pubs.
know fun just being a kid i loved being a kid i was always happy it was always um having fun i was always laughing running around laughing my ass off you know i never wanted to come in i was always out with my mates you know getting up to all kinds of mischief but you know that's part and parcel of being young uh and alcohol had nothing to do with that you know and then for some reason the alcohol creeps in slowly.
And it's like that passage to alcohol, the passage to adulthood, it's one of the few passages, rites of passage that we have now.
And I think most young people, from my generation anyway, that was the expectation that you were going to, you know, once you started, you got to 18, you were allowed to go into the pubs and it was just that thing that you did.
did you know pubs clubs whatever it is that you went into it was you started drinking you were able to buy drink for yourself and that was just you know you have to start acting like an adult and adults go to the pub and drink beer whatever your version is of that right it is it is a version that was that is in our culture that is embedded in the fact that this is what we do slowly but surely, you start connecting and associating alcohol with fun.
